An online jobs search is often a better solution to finding local job listings than the local paper
Many of the best local employers now prefer to place their local job listings through an online jobs facility. There are several reasons for this. Firstly it enables them to attract potential employees from a wider area. People have become far more mobile in recent years and are often prepared to set up home in a new area if the job matches their needs. This is the kind of ambitious person that employers are keen to attract through online jobs advertising; the sort of person they would miss with local job listings. Secondly, employers know that online advertising of their job position is likely to attract forward thinking and computer literate job seekers: Local job listings may not always attract the best candidates even though they may have grown up in the area and know their own locality intricately. Finally, employers know that online jobs are now able to offer far more sophisticated matching of a candidate's talents and skills to particular job vacancies. Local job listings do not offer the same degree of talent matching as online jobs can achieve as a result of well designed database searches.
